NEWS

Excite is making its debut event at Reeperbahn Festival, and since it's a first time for everything we're thrilled about it! Anybody who's in Hamburg for the festival are invited to come check our artists, and also meet up with the network at Mojo Club Jazz Café from 19.00 and onwards Wednesday 19th.

The network of Excite means nine partners in as many countries who are filtering their own areas on talent and making ways to develop the talent at festivals in the participating countries, mostly at festivals. Now we got a get together planned for Reeperbahn. Most partners will be present at the reception and showcase as will the four artists they are representing and whom will also play live.

TIME TABLE WEDNESDAY 19th @ MOJO CLUB JAZZ CAFÉ

7:00 PM / Reception

8:30 PM / Wanthanee
When the song “Only Shadows Remain“ was released in 2016 many radio listeners were really keen on the gentle voice of a singer called Wanthanee. She is 23 years old, has Chinese and Thai roots and has grown up in Belgium. “As Long As We’re Breathing” is the next promising song by a singer just as promising.

9:30 PM / KUOKO
Absolutely a true one woman show, Kuoko have created her own art universe and musically she is exploring minimal electronic sonic worlds, as heard on her first EP Lost Woods (Kabul Fire Records). Seeker, Finder, Keeper is such a haunting track, dangling Far Eastern harmonies and enchanting with Kuoko's fragile voice.

10:30 PM / The Homesick
The trio obviously has a lot of fun with their instruments. It sounds so pure, authentic and self-conscious, it is simply a plain joy and at the same time they stand in a considerable alternative music tradition. Homesickness yes or no, the band is since long at home in a international pop cosmos.

11:30 PM / I Am K
In Scandinavia many music critics agree, the future might belong to I Am K, and some think the band will have an enormous Europe-wide hit record over the next few years. Their sound is an electro pop with catchy melodies but the quintet also uses elements of rock and a lot of electronic gimmicks to get to their quite unique style.

This and more at Mojo Club Jazz Café on Wednesday 19th, don't miss to rsvp through the event if you want in on the reception:
